About Texans Against Censorship

Created to address concerns about limiting freedom of speech and access to legal services, Texans Against Censorship is an organization dedicated to informing and educating citizens of the state on the negative impact that restriction of lawyer advertising would have on many people.

Censorship of advertising legal services is a full-scale, politically motivated attack on the legal community and on the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Restricting the use of television, radio, print-media and yellow page advertising to the point where legal messages to potential clients are rendered useless is a serious threat. This could result in stopping lawyer advertising altogether, which would seriously jeopardize the right of access to justice for thousands, perhaps millions, of busy or underprivileged citizens who would not understand their rights and options without advertising.
